Not as free in Canada as it once was. But if I show up at a hospital with a broken arm, they will fix me up for free.

"Is free healthcare a human right?"

Nothing is free in this world, someone is paying for it.

So, let's reword the question.

Should the people that have money be forced to pay for healthcare for every single person that does not?

And, while we're at it.. might as well put "free dentistry" and "free chiropractics" and "free mental health counseling" in there...

No wonder, illegals are streaming across our borders, because libtards have all kinds of "free" stuff for them when they get here,
all they have to do is vote Democrat!

Socialized medicine works great, until you actually get sick.

Just ask those poor Italians.

anecdotal evidence of Americans getting buried in ER fees because of the incompetence of the government in managing the CVID outbreak. https://www.nytimes.com/2020/03/30/...l?action=click&module=Opinion&pgtype=Homepage

As the USA leads the world in outbreaks and rate of infection it's time to ask the question:

Should healthcare be free for all? Discuss

-New York Times is fake news.
-Trumpcare is the best healthcare in the world.
-The only people who think healthcare should be free are illegal immigrants, communists, and people who want to destroy America.
-People should stop being lazy and get a job.

If healthcare is a human right then wouldn't you suggest we pay for all 7 billion in the world? We all know that is impossible. It is actually impossible just in America. So this thread is about done

According in the UN, the right to education is a human right, do we pay for this for all seven billion people in the world?

https://www.un.org/en/sections/issues-depth/human-rights/

Fuck the UN. They don't follow their own rules. Look at immigration for refugees to the nearest safe country. If they could get the US to pay for it....believe me they would
I hope you aren't dumb enough to think I am suggesting healthcare for everyone

You did question if "we" should pay for healthcare for everyone in the world. But my guess is "we" don't pay for any other human rights of everyone in the world (I can only guess, as you wouldn't answer). So it shouldn't matter if healthcare is a human right or not.

You didn't quote the whole thing
If I state it is impossible It is obvious I wasn't for it
But you can't claim something as a human right and not involve all humans. Nowhere did OP say American right. Either way it is not really possible

The term "universal healthcare" is very intellectually dishonest - par for the course on the left.

"Universal healthcare" does NOT mean "state-of-the instant universal access!"...it means a government issued-ID card, and that's where the Utopia ends.

In practice, it means rationed care: life threatening long wait times for critical MRIs and scans; a dearth of medical supplies, doctors, specialists and nurses; after paying into "the system" all her life, grandma is told she's too old for treatment and should take a pain pill (as Obama put it); the government forbids expensive state-of-the-art equipment and drugs etc.

From Corona to cancer, you're basically screwed. Look what's happening in Italy and Spain - not enough ventilators and supplies means doctors are being forced to choose which people live and die. Horrifying!

In countries with "universal healthcare", you're a slave to the omnipotent state (65%+ of your income and productivity is siphoned out of your pocket and funneled to the govt one way or the other in the form of draconian taxes: hidden VAT taxes, hidden pollution taxes, income taxes, endless fees etc.) while your pet gets better treatment than you do.

If you're a freeloader who lives irresponsibility and smokes like a chimney, "universal healthcare" is a great deal. Not so much for the suckers footing the bill.

There's no such thing as a free lunch.

Pretty sure water, food and power are ALOT more important than healthcare and we find ways to pay for them
